Nic Butkov, RPSGT

Nic Butkov, RPSGT is an internationally recognized educator in sleep medicine and technology. He is Director of the School of Clinical Polysomnography in Medford, Oregon and longstanding faculty member of the School of Sleep Medicine in Palo Alto, California. He is CEO of Synapse Media, author of the Atlas of Clinical Polysomnography and co-editor of Fundamentals of Sleep Technology. In addition, Mr. Butkov is co-founder of the Southern Oregon Sleep Center in Brookings and serves as consultant and data analyst at the Rogue Valley Sleep Center in Medford.

Nic Butkov received his formal training at the Stanford University Sleep Disorders Center in the early 1980s, during which time he was involved in some of the early clinical trials of nasal continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) therapy.

A native Russian speaker, Nic Butkov assisted in the staff training and development of the first clinical sleep facility in Russia during the mid 1990s. In 2002, Nic received the Sharon Keenan PhD Award for Excellence in Education and in 2007, the Elliot D. Weitzman, MD Service Award for contribution to the growth and development of the sleep technology profession.
