Coming to Consensus

Addressing practical and technical concerns with the new AASM Scoring Manual.
In March 2007, the American Academy of Sleep Medicine (AASM) published a series of articles in the Journal of Clinical Sleep Medicine (JCSM) outlining proposed changes to existing scoring criteria for sleep and related events. The articles were followed by the release of a manual, with recommendations for visual scoring of sleep stages, arousals, cardiac events, movement events, and respiratory events.
